What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Home - Assistant House Manager position at Communication Speaks, LLC?
Assistant House Manager will work closely with the Director to ensure the safe, legal, and organized operation of Group Homes. Experience working with youth and group homes is MANDATORY. The Assistant House Manager will work closely with the Director in regard to resources, etc. The Assistant House Manager will serve as the liaison with volunteers. This position ensures that the agency is compliant in quality, state mandates and efficiency in the areas of staffing documentation, on-going agency documentation. This role is responsible for ensuring staff are trained in every area dictated by the state of Ohio as well as any area identified as a need of focus by the agency. This position reports directly to the Director.

Components
The specific responsibilities of this staff member would be as follows:
- Work closely with the Director to maintain organized records of the agency's monthly income, expenses, monetary donations, in-kind donations, and other financial affairs.
- Receive and adequately document all donations; send appropriate receipts, tax exemption, and thank you letters to all donors; maintain a current list of items and work needed at the agency.
- Oversee 30 Day Goal Plans by an agreed upon date and disburse stipends, conduct resident service plans
- Work in conjunction with Director to be sure housing is in compliance and has required/mandatory items for audit/inspection
- Assist in developing and enforcing policy by which individuals and groups may come to volunteer time at the agency; coordinate all such visits; maintain active records on all volunteers; develop and organize a brief orientation for first time volunteers to identify their specific duties and to adequately familiarize them with pertinent policies and procedures of the agency; maintain good working relationships with all volunteers and their supporting agencies / organizations.
- Advocate for, represent the agency and protect the rights and well-being of each resident in the absence or at the request of the Director.
- Develop and maintain positive personal relationships with each resident of the agency; provide positive encouragement and support to each resident; ensure the personal safety of and respect for each resident; and provide appropriate counseling for each resident.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Review Staffing Files monthly for efficacy and error
- Ensure all files are up to date with state mandates
- Perform any necessary training
- Make reprimand recommendations for staff in compliance
Qualifications
- Appropriate and sufficient training in organizational administration and accounting.
- Appropriate and sufficient training in home economics, maintaining children’s health and safety, First Aid, Fire Safety, and counseling abused, abandoned, and/or neglected children.
- Previous experience working with abused, abandoned, and/or neglected children.
- Basic computer skills.
