What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician position at Communications Test Design, Inc.?

This individual will be involved with cutting-edge technology. This individual should be a high-energy, quick learner who enjoys a hands-on, fast-paced work environment. Specifically, the responsibilities of this position include:
- Work with our corporate team to install and maintain CATV head-end equipment.
- Work with our corporate engineering and Operations management team to prepare Test Procedures for STB repair and clean and screen processes
- Work with CTDI STB repair branches to implement and support the tools and processes to optimize set top box testing and repair processes.
- Interface directly with the customer concerning New Product Introduction (NPI) work on new STB models.
- Analyze technical requirements and effort associated with test systems, products, and STB repair and clean and screen processes.
- Generate various documents, including test procedures, schematics, flowcharts, and project status reports.
- Support local branch on technical requirements and consult with other branches as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on direction from multiple departments.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to work with and communicate with a diverse population, including all levels of management
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Clear discriminatory approach to solving engineering problems.
- Understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits.
- Understanding of audio, video and CATV RF formats and circuits.
- Familiarity with Cable TV (CATV) and Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) technology.
- Familiarity with IP networks and Linux a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Experience:
- Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of Science (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Internship or project experience with test engineering.
