Communitas is a non-profit agency based in Wakefield, MA that supports people with disabilities throughout their lifespan. We're seeking an innovative and passionate Director of Behavioral Services to lead our agency's approach to supporting individuals with disabilities.

In this dynamic role, you will:
- Lead with impact: Be a pillar for the Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) Leadership Team, developing and implementing a strategic plan that transforms how we address behavioral needs across our agency.
- Drive excellence: Develop and implement agency-wide policies and training programs that ensure best practices in mental health and behavioral support.
- Foster a culture of growth: Provide ongoing support, coaching, and supervision to staff, empowering them to deliver exceptional care.
- Be a critical partner: Collaborate with program teams across our three divisions (family support, residential services, and day programs) to ensure seamless and effective support.
- Champion individual needs: Play a key role in the intake process, ensuring person-centered support plans are developed and implemented for each individual.
Qualifications of the right candidate include:
- Being licensed in Massachusetts in accordance with applicable laws as one of the following: psychologist, licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW), qualified Applied Behavior Analyst, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Master’s or Doctorate level teacher with certification in special education or a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC).
- Having attained at least five years of training, including post graduate class work or formal training, and/or experience in function based behavioral assessment and treatment.
- A minimum of three years’ experience working with individuals with an Intellectual Disability, Developmental Disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check including references, CORI, and fingerprinting.
