Our Communities Connected for Kids Program provides services for children and families in the child welfare system, to ensure a community without abuse, neglect and abandonment. Based out of Port Saint Lucie, FL, this position ensures the timely and comprehensive provision of physical, mental health, and health services to children under protective supervision and served by the CCKids and its’ case management providers. This position also coordinates activities required to meet the terms and conditions of the Community Based Care Integrated Health Child Welfare Specialty Plan agreement and all related managed care entities. (e.g., Sunshine Health, Cenpatico etc). This position requires the following professional skills:
*1. Clinical Skills and Knowledge (as appropriate to the population served, and relevant to the job responsibilities): Demonstrates ability to conduct standard assessments; functional assessment; treatment interventions; possess therapy skills; eclectic clinical approaches; family systems approaches; consultative skills; behavior program development skills; devise data collection systems; monitoring systems; and conduct relevant staff/family training. Knowledge of research methods, current trends and approaches in the field as relevant Assess and assist with access to services when needed for children in out-of-home care and for members enrolled in the Child Welfare Specialty Plan.
*2. Time Management Skills: Understands and demonstrates an ability to use time in an efficient and effective manner. Collaborates and communicates with co-workers to increase efficiency, and enhance team’s time management. Is aware of, and consistently meets established deadlines. Identifies and prioritizes multiple tasks to assure timely completion of projects and assigned tasks. Communicates progress regarding completion of time lines/deadlines with co-workers, supervisors, and internal and external customers. Recommends and implements strategies to enhance time management skills.
*3. Regulatory / Professional Practice: Demonstrates the skills, knowledge and abilities to understand, implement, as well as impact regulatory guidelines and professional standards. Practices within and influences others to follow external and internal guidelines governing the facility and one’s professional licensure guidelines. The internal guidelines include, but are not limited to GAP Standards, CCKids policies and procedures, credentialing and staff development. Also, must demonstrate a degree of understanding of and implementation of applicable external controls such as, but not limited to, local licensing authorities, JCAHO, Social Current, and managed care procedures. Attend treatment team meetings when appropriate to assist with care coordination needs. Facilitate child specific staffing to discuss children in need of service care coordination and/or to discuss higher level of therapeutic care appropriateness if applicable. Coordinate and monitor utilization of the Purchase of Therapeutic Services for children. Maintain compliance with contract terms to carry out care coordination duties regarding the Child Welfare Specialty Plan with Sunshine Health.
*4. Quality Improvement: Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement activities and demonstrates skills, knowledge and abilities needed to develop, implement and manage improvement projects. These projects will be performed in such a manner that they attend to quality issues, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, outcomes, and corrective actions, and incorporate best practices and innovative methods of quality management/improvement. Review & approve Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessments (CBHAs) for children placed in out-of-home care and work collaboratively with CBHA assessors to ensure recommendations and referrals are appropriate and accessible. Participate in the quality improvement process.
*5. Technology Skills: Demonstrates appropriate use of general office equipment and procedures such as copiers, printers, faxes, and phones. Demonstrates proficiency with computer keyboard and required computer applications such as Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FSFN, Oracle, Kronos, Profiler, the Internet, and all other applicable computer programs.
*6. Customers / Stakeholders: Establishes an operational environment and culture, which is aligned with CCKids strategies, initiatives, and practices. Fosters positive relations and interactions between all CCKids departments and employees, which promote the growth and image of the agency. Recognizes, understands, and develops strong internal, business and industry customer relationships. Serve as the liaison to the AHCA Area G Office of Medicaid; Serve as the liaison to the Medicaid managed care entities; Serve as the liaison to the behavioral health and health provider network.
*7. Risk and Safety Awareness: Works in a safe and appropriate manner. Follows all CCKids policies and procedures designed to maintain client, visitor, and employee safety. Reports any safety or risk concerns to their supervisor or Safety Committee member.
*8. Financial / Data Management: Follows all CCKids policies and procedures to maintain any client or employee data in a safe and secure manner. Understands the need for exercising financial responsibility with all CCKids resources and/or assets utilized as part of their job function and responsibilities.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Master’s degree in human services, social work, or related field from an accredited school or university.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five (5) or more years of combined experience in child welfare and behavioral health.Preferred: Knowledge of DCF / ACHA / APD policies and procedures. Prior experience with Medicaid managed care.
