Job Description
The Licensed Counselor will coordinate and provide counseling and social services in a public-school setting. The target population will be students and their families facing obstacles to academic and personal success. The Licensed Counselor will work directly on the school campus providing professional, accessible services to at-risk students and their families. The Licensed Counselor will also collaborate with partner organizations to provide the necessary services to meet the needs of the families and students served.
Candidates must be willing to work at any open CIS-SA district / program location.

Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Intake & Assessment
- Coordinate with CIS-SA staff, school staff, and community members to identify counseling referrals.
- Complete the full intake process with all eligible clients while adhering to CIS-SA policies and procedures, including obtaining appropriate custody documents and signatures for consent paperwork.
- Conduct an initial psychosocial assessment with enrolled clients and their parent or guardians, as needed.
Service Delivery
Collaborate with enrolled clients and their parent / guardian to complete individual treatment plans to effectively plan & deliver services that impact client goals.Continuously monitor client progress toward treatment plan goals.Conduct surveys and assessments with each client per CIS-SA grant requirements to establish outcomes.Provide individual and group counseling to enrolled clients to address mental health or emotional needs with the goal of improving client well-being.Implement appropriate counseling strategies and intervention techniques to meet client needs.Provide individual and campus-wide crisis intervention supports during critical situations.Develop an aftercare plan with students and families in coordination with CIS-SA and / or school staff to ensure continuity of care as needed.Obtain client referrals from multiple school sites to meet grant requirements by prescribed deadlines.Collaborative Efforts
Collaborate and communicate with parents / guardians and appropriate CIS-SA and school staff on a regular basis to seek input and report on client progress, case status, and counseling needs.Collaborate with appropriate CIS-SA staff and school staff for ongoing support and mental health needs and ensure new or ongoing family and basic needs are addressed.Organize and facilitate trainings to the agency, school staff, and community members relevant to social emotional and behavioral wellness to include mental health literacy.Attend team meetings with CIS-SA staff and assigned district or school personnel for case consultations, to review case status reports, discuss treatment plans, and address programmatic concerns.Coordinate and oversee assigned volunteers / interns to ensure success of programming.Adhere to volunteer, intern and community partner procedures and policies at the school district and CIS-SA level.Data Maintenance & Evaluation
Collect CIS-SA consent and enrollment information for each eligible client.Collect and monitor data around client progress toward goals.Establish and securely maintain accurate and complete CIS-SA electronic and / or paper client files with appropriate and up-to-date information / documentation as per CIS-SA procedures and deadlines.Obtain & document services from sign in sheets in the CIS-SA approved data entry system in accordance with CIS-SA procedures and deadlines.Maintain data quality by monitoring files and data for accuracy.Utilize and communicate data to assess and demonstrate program effectiveness.Administrative & Other Duties
Manage approved work schedule and timesheets.Implement, manage, and report progress on grants and projects for assigned program (e.g., monthly report, grant reports, district reports, impact reports, etc.).Attend and engage in all meetings as required.Participate and engage in professional development and training opportunities to obtain or improve knowledge and skills.Provide cross-departmental support for the overall goals of the agency.Manage and maintain site budgets and plan appropriate expenditures according to funding guidelines.Maintain required licensure by participating in relevant professional development activities as required.Exhibit CIS Core Values :

Days and hours of work generally are Monday through Friday, 8a.m. to 5p.m. Employees may be required to adjust daily work hours based on location / site (i.e., 7 : 30-4 : 00pm) and changes in work hours for summer, June-August (i.e., Mon-Thur 7 : 00am-5 : 30pm). This position on occasion requires long hours and weekend work.
Pay : Salary will be commensurate with years of related / relevant work experience.
Benefits : CIS-SA provides a comprehensive benefits package in addition to pay to include paid school holidays and a paid summer break (with 6 months tenure).
Travel : Travel is required to / between schools in Bexar County and some rural communities during the business day with mileage reimbursement for non-commuting travel

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Master's degree in a social work, counseling, psychology, or related fieldCurrently licensed through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, or Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists, as an LMFT, LPC,or LCSW required.
Four years of related experience in the field (including graduate internship hours)Experience with Early Childhood and Family Interventions and practices.Experience with at-risk populations and cross-cultural environments.Demonstrating empathy toward clients, their challenges, and viewpointsExperience with at-risk populations and identifying barriers to success, developing practical solutions, creating action plans, providing supports, and advocating for resources.Proven ability to set priorities, manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines to set priorities and work with minimal supervision.Communicating effectively to understand needs, convey information and collaborate on solutions.Adaptable to diverse work environments, frequent changes, and various leadership stylesPreferred Education and Experience
Experience working in a school setting preferred.Bilingual ability in Spanish and English preferredCollecting and analyzing data to inform decision making and intervention strategies.Knowledge of social service resources that can support social, emotional, and academic needsAdditional Eligibility Qualifications / Requirements
