JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Grant Accountant
SUPERVISOR: Chief Financial Officer
JOB SUMMARY: Primary assistant to the Chief Financial Officer. Prepare and submit all finance reports to appropriate funding sources.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Follows CAA policies/procedures, including current HIPAA regulations
- Maintains confidentiality of financial records and assets
- Assists with monthly financial close
- Monthly Bank Reconciliations
- Assists with various audits
- Prepares monthly funding source reports
- Provide project directors/coordinators with financial information as required
- Verifies coding on Cash Receipts
- Verifies coding of Accounts Payable Batches
- Assist CFO with budget preparation and analysis
- Monitors cash flow and draws down funds as necessary
- Updates financial policies and procedures as necessary for review by CFO
- Prepares monthly allocation of cost pools
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree preferred but will consider a combination of work experience and/or Associates degree in a related field; must have a high concentration in Accounting.
- Required 3-5 years experience in accounting or finance
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
- Demonstrated computer skills including proficiency in word and excel
- Ability to operate computerized accounting system
- Knowledge of office equipment, including copier, fax machine, postage machine, calculator, etc.
- Ability to accurately carry out required tasks in a timely manner
- Willing to work flexible hours if necessary
- Ability to schedule and use available time effectively
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Travel when necessary to fulfill the corporation’s needs and attends meetings as necessary to represent the corporation
- Must be bondable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment
- Other duties as assigned
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and often high-stress environment as well as the ability to adapt quickly to workload changes
- Ability to deal with inside and outside clientele and vendors in a diplomatic and courteous manner while assuring adherence to CAA policies/procedures
- Above average oral, reading and writing skills to accurately operate a computer, perform necessary documentation and effectively communicate with staff, clients, customers, business partners, other CAA departments and visitors
- WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Numerous interruptions
- Ability to remain calm and cheerful under stressful working conditions
- BACKGROUND CHECK/ DRUG AND ALCOHOL TEST:
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of criminal background check.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug and alcohol test and TB test.
HOURLY FLSA CLASSIFICATION:

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
