What are the responsibilities and job description for the Help Desk Specialist position at Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City?
- Ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve computer-related issues for employees, providing frontline service for all incoming requests.
- Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
- Record, track and document the request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful attempts made, actions taken, and through final resolution.
- Troubleshoot issues utilizing the software updates, drivers, and diagnostic tools.
- Field necessary requests to Team Logic via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely and effective resolution of end-user issues.
- This position will require travel to off-site locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Admin Services Director.

- body strength to stand/walk throughout the day. Local travel to CAA locations. Environmental demands include an air-conditioned building with fluorescent lighting, limited exposure to weather conditions, and exposure to computer monitors.
- Associate degree in computer science or a related field. 2 years’ experience working in a help desk capacity.
- Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and payroll software.
- Ability to handle confidential employee matters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with people of all levels and ethnic groups.
About Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City:
The Community Action Agency of OKC/Oklahoma County was established in 1966, and initially was financed by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which launched the nation’s “War on Poverty.” Eventually the funding was consolidated into the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). The Community Services division was implemented early on, serving low-income residents of Oklahoma County. Early programs included implementing the Food Stamp program and offering a nutrition program for seniors at meal centers.Today the division has greatly expanded to offer legal assistance; tax assistance; summer youth programs; senior transportation to meal sites, medical appointments, and shopping; rent and mortgage assistance; and other community needs.HEAD STARTThe Agency’s first Head Start center opened its doors to 39 families in 1965. Within two years, nine new centers and 575 children entered Head Start in Oklahoma County. Today we have 26 Head Start classrooms in 15 public schools, and 98 Head Start classrooms total providing services to thousands of children in Oklahoma County.
