JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Administrative Services Director, the Help Desk Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day technical support operations. The primary purpose of the Help Desk Specialist is to provide front-line support for the central office, Head Start centers, and community service centers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve computer-related issues for employees, providing frontline service for all incoming requests.
Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
Record, track and document the request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful attempts made, actions taken, and through final resolution.
Troubleshoot issues utilizing the software updates, drivers, and diagnostic tools.
Field necessary requests to Team Logic via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely and effective resolution of end-user issues.
This position will require travel to off-site locations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Admin Services Director.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Conduct work in a moderate-paced office environment with frequent interruptions. The majority of work centers on personnel management using computer systems, related paperwork, and organizational skills. Possess strength and stamina to be able to remain in a seated position for up to
60 minutes at a time throughout the workday with a minimum of fatigue and discomfort. May lift and carry general office supplies and equipment, typically weighing less than 30 pounds. Lower
body strength to stand/walk throughout the day. Local travel to CAA locations. Environmental demands include an air-conditioned building with fluorescent lighting, limited exposure to weather conditions, and exposure to computer monitors.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Associate degree in computer science or a related field. 2 years’ experience working in a help desk capacity.
- Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and payroll software.
- Ability to handle confidential employee matters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with people of all levels and ethnic groups.
