JOB SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Housing / Maintenance Director, this position is responsible for the supervision and operation of the Agency Weatherization Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Schedules and assigns weatherization jobs to contractors and crew(s) on a monthly basis.
- Prepares and routes all purchase orders required for weatherization materials along with subordinates.
- Plans, directs, and supervises weatherization contractors, crew(s), and Quality Control Inspector / Energy Auditor. Ensures contractors and crews utilize standard work specifications and CAZ testing and any other Oklahoma Department of Commerce and Department of Energy requirements. Maintain Quality Control Inspector certification.
- Provides technical assistance at required locations to staff and contractors by explanation and example in weatherization technique s and problem solving.
- Maintains material safety data sheets on products used.
- Controls and issues required tools and equipment.
- Ensures that necessary data is filed and maintained related to the overall Weatherization Program.
- Conducts quality control inspections of all weatherization work.
- Participates in the interviewing and selection of Weatherization personnel.
- Performs follow-up actions as required. Investigates and submits written problem-solving action to the Housing / Maintenance Division Director.
- Prepares and checks all monthly reports for accuracy prior to submission to the Housing / Maintenance Director and Fiscal Services Director.
- Conducts quarterly material survey to assess cost.
- Responsible for approving timecards and leave requests.
- Attends required training and maintains funding source certifications.
- Advises the Housing / Maintenance Director of any problems that affect the overall weatherization goals.
- This position requires frequent travel to offsite locations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Housing / Maintenance Director.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Conduct work in a moderate paced environment. Performing weatherization task on residential homes. Upper body strength to lift 85 pounds and carry 100 feet and move heavy loads using material handling equipment. Lower body strength to stand / walk throughout the workday. Climb various ladders and scaffolding somewhat frequently relative to areas. Environmental demands include moderate exposure to weather conditions and various airborne particles of sawdust, insulation, and common dust. Work is performed in limited and inaccessible areas frequently. Possible exposure to various supplies containing hazardous materials or chemicals.

The Community Action Agency of OKC / Oklahoma County was established in 1966, and initially was financed by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which launched the nation’s “War on Poverty.” Eventually the funding was consolidated into the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). The Community Services division was implemented early on, serving low-income residents of Oklahoma County. Early programs included implementing the Food Stamp program and offering a nutrition program for seniors at meal centers.Today the division has greatly expanded to offer legal assistance; tax assistance; summer youth programs; senior transportation to meal sites, medical appointments, and shopping; rent and mortgage assistance; and other community needs.HEAD STARTThe Agency’s first Head Start center opened its doors to 39 families in 1965. Within two years, nine new centers and 575 children entered Head Start in Oklahoma County. Today we have 26 Head Start classrooms in 15 public schools, and 98 Head Start classrooms total providing services to thousands of children in Oklahoma County.
