Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of the Health Delivery System and ensuring compliance in all Health Education issues as dictated by ACF and prevailing State and Federal laws.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Monitors the health services in the centers to assure compliance with federal guidelines and local and state health regulations.
Develops and maintains a health education referral service.
Assures that each staff member receives all necessary health education/services to include TB Screening and/or examinations and required annual health trainings.
Coordinates with Family Advocate Staff to ensure that each child receives medical/dental services including screenings, tests, examinations, and follow-ups and has required immunizations.
Provides/secures technical assistance and guidance to staff and parents on Health Education issues.
Develops and maintains a tracking system to ensure that all services are meeting the required scheduling requirements.
Serves as an advocate for families accessing HMO and CHIPS (Child Health Insurance Plan).
Provides/secures training and technical assistance to Family Advocates and Center Directors to assure delivery of services.
Develops and updates annual Content Area Written Plans and Program of Work.
Work as part of the Head Start Support Service Team for successful component integration.
Keeps abreast of all community health issues and provides education and guidance as needed.
Other related duties as requested to meet the goals of the program.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The environment is varied to include the Head Start Support office, Head Start Centers, and various Community Resources. Must be mobile and agile to perform required tasks such as lifting up to forty-five (45) pounds, reaching above the head and below the knee, or positioning body as to be on childs level and floor level. Must be able to bend, stop, kneel, crouch, and able to run or walk hurriedly for a childs safety.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
LPN or BA Degree in Nursing or related field, with at least three (3) years experience in a family/public oriented service delivery system.
Human Relations and Management skills.
Experience in dealing with health professionals.
Possess Liability Insurance.
Have a valid Oklahoma Drivers License and transportation available.
Must meet all applicable requirements established by state and funding sources to include finger printing.
Meet required Work Environment standards.

Coordinates with: Head Start Support Staff & Center Directors and professional providers
Qualifications
I. LPN or BA Degree in Nursing or related field, with at least three (3) years experience in a family/public oriented service delivery system.
2. Human Relations and Management skills.
3. Experience in dealing with health professionals.
4. Possess Liability Insurance.
5. Have a valid Oklahoma Driver's License and transportation available.
6. Must meet all applicable requirements established by state and funding sources to include finger printing.
7. Meet required Work Environment standards.
