In October 2021, we launched our new ‘Food Club & Opportunity Hub’ to expand efficient, impactful healthy food assistance with the on-site integration of other pathway programs. More recently, we announced a partnership with Dwelling Place to help address the affordable housing crisis here in Holland. In July 2023, we publicly launched our expansion of Lakeshore Food Rescue (www.lakeshorefoodrescue.org).

Summary
The Events Intern will support the planning and execution of Community Action House events, assisting with logistics, volunteer coordination, and on-site event operations. This position supports the organization through hands-on experience in event management, working closely with the Events Manager to ensure seamless and impactful events that engage the community and support our mission.

Summary

Responsibilities & Essential Duties
- Work closely with the Events Manager to develop event plans, troubleshoot challenges, and enhance overall event experiences
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Community Action House events, ensuring smooth logistics and meaningful engagement
- Provide on-site event support, including setup, registration, volunteer coordination, and guest engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align event goals with organizational priorities
- Contribute creative ideas for improving event experiences and strengthening community engagement
- Help manage inventory and maintain event supplies, ensuring all materials are available and organized
- Support post-event tasks, such as gathering feedback, tracking attendance, and organizing wrap-up reports
- Other duties as assigned
- Specific Direction: Receives detailed work instructions or guidance for performing repetitive tasks. Supervisor monitors progress and provides feedback or correction as needed to ensure that tasks are completed according to expectations
- No prior experience required
- High School Diploma required. Some college preferred.; or in place of a degree, equivalent years of experience
- Pursuing a degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
- Basic conversational Spanish proficiency desired
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with volunteers, staff, and community members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to support seamless event execution
- Previous experience in event planning, customer service, or volunteer coordination (preferred)
