What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Events Intern position at Holland, City of (MI)?
Under the direction of the Principal Shopping District Coordinator, the Special Events Assistant is responsible for assisting in the planning and on-site management of summer events in Downtown Holland and at the Holland Farmers Market.
To be considered for this position, please submit both a cover letter and resume when applying, as requested.- Assists in the planning of special events in Downtown Holland and at the Holland Farmers Market and provides onsite management of the weekly Market Kids Activities on Wednesday mornings and the Street Performer Series on Thursday evenings.
- Other responsibilities may include creating newsletter, social media, and website content, writing press releases, communicating with Downtown businesses and other vendors, and attending stakeholder meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Current college student or recent graduate in the field of hospitality, recreation, tourism, or marketing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, while gathering direction and input from supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Outside working conditions with exposure to hot or cold weather conditions.
