JOB DESCRIPTION
The Energy Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the operation of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) system. This includes processing LIHEAP applications, working with utility vendors, maintaining accurate records, and supervising appropriate personnel. This position is also responsible for entering data related to Weatherization clients and preparation of program reports for the Weatherization Director. Additionally, the Energy Services Coordinator monitors files for accuracy; runs regular required reports to be submitted; coordinates and maintains effective office procedures and work flow; and provides administrative oversight to the utility assistance programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be an advocate for the Mission and Vision set forth by CAPNCM.
- Coordinate operation of LIHEAP/MOWAP system, including processing applications, linking customers to Weatherization and other services, and informing utility vendors of program specifications.
- Supervise LIHEAP staff and monitor workflow to ensure effective delivery of services and compliance with contract requirements.
- Utilize, manage, and make known to outreach staff the availability of additional utility assistance programs such as Dollar More, Dollar-Aide from KCP&L, etc.
- Prepare and submit to supervisor(s) all necessary LIHEAP/Weatherization program reports and ensure that participant records are maintained properly.
- Assist supervisor in developing educational programs offered by CAPNCM, including current energy conservation workshops, as well as, developing new programs to be done in conjunction with area utility providers.
- Assists Weatherization Director in developing and implementing a strategy to conduct home energy audits for the entire community as a revenue generating measure for CAPNCM.
- Maintain good relationships with vendors and others, as necessary, to meet program requirements. Establish and maintain effective working relationships between program staff and other CAPNCM personnel, governmental entities, relevant community agencies, public officials, and funding sources.
- Active involvement in at least one (1) civic, educational, or service group is preferred.
- Keep work area clean and neat in appearance.
- Participate in training activities as deemed necessary by supervisor.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree preferred with emphasis on Computers, Office Skills, Business, or Social Service fields; high school diploma or equivalent required and two (2) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of CAPNCM’s purpose, goals, mission/vision, policies and procedures, and resources.
- Advanced skills in computer data processing and a high level of comfort with computers and database systems. Accuracy and efficiency are highly important.
- Ability to meet deadlines and is well organized, with attention to detail.
- Ability to identify problems early in the process and use others as resources for problem-solving.
- Get input from supervisor(s) regarding prioritization of duties and projects, when necessary. Ability to communicate on a daily basis with regards to challenges, successes, and suggestions in which to improve programs and processes. Encourage other department members to suggest new ways of approaching projects and programs.
- Knowledge of various utility/energy providers, including municipal, rural electric and investor-owned utilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive client information in a confidential, professional manner.
· Possess a valid, current Missouri driver's license and provide proof of insurance.

- Minimal travel required.
SHIFT
- Full-time position, 36 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 5:00pm.
