Scope of Supervision: Information Technology Support Technician, Information Technology Systems Administrator
Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
- Oversee agency telecommunications systems, internet connectivity links and networks, computer hardware/software systems, applications and databases.
- Collaborate with all departments to assist in the identification of innovative opportunities, timely IT investments and the roll out specific IT projects and initiatives.
- Ensure that the appropriate infrastructure is in place to support the company's computer and information technology needs.
- Strategically integrate information technologies into the agency to improve effectiveness. Collaborate with agency leadership to build mutually beneficial relationships and develop means to address their needs from an IT capability and program outcomes perspective.
- Assist the leadership team in executing their respective responsibilities towards the achievement of agency goals and objectives as well as those of our funders.
- Plan, direct, evaluate and manage the activities of the Information Technology Department. Develop an annual work plan and operating budget for the department and monitor its implementation.
- Meet with management to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines and ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.
- Recruit, hire, train, and provide performance feedback in compliance with applicable requirements including collective bargaining agreement and personnel policies. Provide staff training, develop performance expectations and assess employee performance to established standards.
- Keep abreast of all the latest industry happenings, IT best practices and evolution of technologies/standards by attending trainings/conferences and maintaining relationships with key associations and stakeholders.
- Purchasing and Vendor Management:
- Qualify and select technology vendors for the agency, negotiate and handle or approve purchases of all technology for the agency (hardware, software, services). Manage costs, track and evaluate vendor quality. Work with program directors and within funder guidelines to insure proper approval and grant compliance in all purchases.
- Liaison with Technology Managed Services Providers who provide advanced network and infrastructure engineering expertise as well as management of agency technology backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Liaison with Telecommunications vendors to ensure scalable and reliable Internet and Telephone solutions and integration at all agency locations
- Department Management:
- Oversee implementation and administration of all agency network and server infrastructure. This includes wired and wireless network design and implementation, physical server and storage hardware acquisition and implementation, and Virtual Infrastructure (VMWare) administration.
- Oversee the deployment and management of all Windows Servers and Active Directory infrastructure both physical and virtual as well as Google Apps for Nonprofits administration and integration.
- Create and manage effective business procedures, so that the IT team can function efficiently in a structured fashion to provide technology services to agency’s staff and offices.
- Policy Development:
- Establish and manage computer use policies for the agency, covering appropriate use, information security, privacy and related topics.
- Oversee the activities of IT staff that carry out these policies, such as network administration work.
- Provide top-tier escalation of all agency technology support issues via Technology Innovation staff as well as direct liaison with end users to provide comprehensive support of agency-wide technology software and hardware.
- Staff Supervision:
- Supervise, give work direction, define functions, clarify work expectations and provide feedback regarding performance to direct reports. Ensure required performance evaluations are conducted on a timely basis.
- Facilitate department staff meetings. Provide direction to team members regarding their role and the purpose of the team.
- Travel to multiple agency sites as needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/MIS or related field; advanced degree or certification beneficial, plus 6-8 years IT experience with progressive responsibilities, covering user support, network administration, programming/ development, systems analysis or integration areas. Alternately, demonstrated relevant IT experience may substitute for degree.
- 2 years of prior supervisory experience.
- Background and knowledge required in a combination of 3 or more the following: VMWare, Microsoft Windows and Active Directory Administration, Google Apps administration, Network Administration, Software Deployment, and Service Desk Administration. Certifications from Microsoft, Google, or others provide additional qualification.
- Strong analytic skills for integration solutions planning. Strong interaction and team leadership skills for investigating user requirements for systems and integrations.
- Good communication skills to work with staff in all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to perform the primary functions of the position with minimal supervision and demonstrate appropriate time and priority management skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, in spoken and written form, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule including occasional evening and weekend hours, and work extended hours when required for specific project activities and during urgent problem situations.
Abilities and Skills: In order to be successful in this position, the person will at minimum need to possess the following abilities and skills: Strong keyboard skills for computer operations. Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, cyber-security, and emerging technologies, ability to manager teams, budgets, and projects effectively.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift to 40 pounds for handling computer equipment installations. Ability to sit for long period of time. Ability to function in a typical office, an IT server room environment, in a moderate noise environment and also in a cooled equipment area (server room).
Mental Requirements: This position requires the ability to organize workload, and handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to function individually as well as a member of a team. Must be able to work and communicate with various skill levels in users. Must be able to determine unusual problems and define solutions.

Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $90,228.53 annually - $117,647.96 annually
Full Salary Range: $90,228.53 annually - $145,068.31 annually

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, Full Year, Regular, Exempt
Hybrid Capability: This position is eligible for 1 remote day per week.
