GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Early Care and Education Site Supervisor (ECE Site Supervisor) supports an engaging, high quality, early learning environment that meets the developmental needs of all children. The ECE Site Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of the center and ensures that all licensing regulations are adhered to.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or documentation demonstrating qualifications as a Center Director per NH Childcare Licensing guidelines.
- Minimum of 1500 hours experience working with children in a licensed childcare program or public / private elementary school.
- Documentation of 3 credits in management or supervision, or at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Computer literacy including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Current or ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Able to lift 25-40 lbs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management
- Assumes responsibility for the center’s day-to-day operation.
- Ensures the health and safety of children and staff by maintaining a healthy and safe environment. Ensure facilities, equipment and supplies are adequately and appropriately maintained.
- Engages in monthly observation of classrooms (infant/toddler/preschool).
- Collaborates with teachers to create a rich, engaging learning environment and provides monthly reflective supervision to support high quality programming.
- Primary contact for Childcare Licensing Unit, with support from the Compliance Manager.
- Ensures that facilities and documentation are maintained in accordance with NH licensing requirements, safety policies and CAPSC procedures. This includes monthly fire and emergency drills, maintaining online CONNECTIONS site, signing accident/incident reports, and ensuring appropriate documentation standards are met.
- Responsible for ensuring location is up to date with Granite Steps for Quality reporting.
- Responds effectively to crisis situations.
- Informs Compliance Manager of any facility improvements needed and acts as a point of contact for facilities or contractors.
- Ensures all child files are CCLU compliant
- Organizes and recruits summer programming
- Other related tasks as assigned
Family and Community Relationships
- Maintains positive communication with families.
- Ensures staff maintains confidentiality and a gossip-free environment.
- Supports staff in maintaining effective communication with families.
- Mediates immediate concerns between families and educators, informing appropriate ECE staff.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with community agencies and organizations offering services (e.g., DHHS, DCYF, Resource and Referral, NH State Licensing, and schools).
- Maintains a positive and productive attitude regarding both Centers and the CAPSC Agency when interacting both within the program and with the greater community.
- Commitment to actively supporting Family Engagement and School Readiness.
- Actively participates in relevant professional organizations, with prior approval from ECE Program Director.
Staff Management
- Responsible for classroom staff schedule, ensuring child to staff ratio is CCLU and Head Start (if applicable) compliant.
- Maintains documentation of monthly reflective supervision with teachers.
- Meets regularly with the Education manager and coaches to evaluate and maintain documentation for educator’s professional development hours and assist in determining training needs.
- Effectively delegates responsibilities to team members.
- Approves timesheets, expense reports, mileage reports, time off requests and other employee action forms for assigned site’s HS Lead Teachers, Early Childhood Educators, Assistant Early Childhood Educators, and Early Childhood Classroom Aides
- Identifies agenda items for monthly building meetings in conjunction with other program managers
- In conjunction with the Education Manager provides input on staff evaluations and goal setting.
- Provides classroom volunteer orientation.

EMPLOYMENT SCREENING
Valid Driver's License and insured vehicle (100/300 minimum coverage) for use on the job or acceptable alternative, driving record check, criminal record check, randomized drug screening.
Head Start, Early Head Start, Childcare, and Home Visiting Programs are also subject to the following: Head Start and childcare licensing requires a criminal record check and finger printing to be completed prior to employment. An initial physical examination record, including a TB screening must be obtained within 60 days of hire, updated every three years, and kept on file with Human Resources. If a TB screening indicates high risk, results of a TB test must be kept on file including any treatment received. An initial driving record check will be conducted. License information will also be submitted to the agency’s automobile insurance carrier.
