JOB TITLE: Intake/Food Pantry Worker
PROGRAM: Family Center
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time
POSITION GRADE: Grade 3
SALARY: $16.27 per hour
JOB HOURS: 35 (Hours may vary, occasional evenings)
JOB LOCATION: Watertown, NY
JOB SUMMARY: The Intake/Food Pantry Worker is responsible for input of customer data and demographics into the agency CAPTAIN database and Food Pantry Online ordering system SmartChoice. This would include customers who utilize Head Start, Pre-K, Weatherization Food Pantry, Utility/ Rental Assistance, Holiday Programs and Tax Preparation.
- Responsible for the input of Community Action customer demographics collected on intake forms
- Responsible for the input of customers' demographics collected into the online food pantry
- Interview customers to assess needs; screen for eligibility for Community Action services; provide
- Provide coverage of the reception area (answering phones, greeting customers, etc.).
- Provide support to Food Pantry operations, to include record-keeping, inventory management, and
- Maintain customer files and program data; generate reports.
- Maintain positive relationships with existing partners; seek opportunities for new
- partnerships/collaborations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: 18 Credits beyond High School in Human Service and/or related fields.
EXPERIENCE: One-year experience in the Human Services or related fields.
