Position: FINANCE SUPPORT SPECIALIST 2

Supervised by: Finance Manager

Department: Finance

Classification: Regular Full Time

Position Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Pendleton

Salary: $4,017/month

Position Overview

The position is responsible for financial functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and other Federal of State regulatory guidelines for Non-Profits.

Essential Job Functions

  • Be able to work within an automated accounting system.
  • Enter applicable data entry for compiling monthly bank reconciliations
  • Run reports to update grant tracking spreadsheets used for billing purposes
  • Prepare funder billing backup and applicable Accounts Receivable data entry
  • Review weekly Accounts Payable data entry reports
  • Serve as backup Accounts Payable regarding gathering, entering, and processing vendor payments.
  • Maintain funder/vendor files by vendor and year.
  • Perform other day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording various facets of the accounting system.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field or two years comparable proven experience in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or accounting.
  • Basic knowledge of financial accounting principles and internal control procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to communicate orally in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive personnel information.
  • Ability to perform basic numerical calculations.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e. calculator, copier, fax, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of computer and financial software (outlook, Microsoft Suite, financial software).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to bend, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift, and/or carry/move objects up to 50 pounds.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smart phones, photocopiers/scanners, shredders and filing cabinets.

Special Requirements

Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, a conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual from this position.

  • CAPECO is a drug free workplace and pre-employment drug screening will be required.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record is required.
  • Occasional travel could apply for this position, but is not typical.Travel may require the use of a personal vehicle. Mileage for the business-related use of a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the standard mileage rate as published per IRS guidelines.
