What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Coordinator position at Community Action Programs Inter-City, Inc. (CAPIC)?

Location- Chelsea (catchment area includes Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop)
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Head Start Performance Standards and EEC standards are met;
- Evaluate education/academic goals and plan constructive /creative methods to achieve and exceed compliance;
- Provide oversight and support to classroom teachers
- Work with members of interdisciplinary management team to develop program goals that meet the needs of children and families;
- Ensure that curriculum is implemented with fidelity and that school readiness goals are aligned and executed in accordance with state and federal frameworks;
- Coordinate training for education staff that promotes school readiness success for all children and their families;
- Provide support and supervision to teachers to ensure that the assessment process functions smoothly and reflects children’s strengths and needs;
- Evaluate assessment data and develop school readiness goals to ensure that the curriculum and teaching strategies meet the needs of children;
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Two years supervisory experience in early childhood program
- Ability to work well with low-income families and communicate effectively with management team, staff and community.
