Job Description:
We are looking for a professional with a heart to work with children in a preschool head start classroom.
Duties:
- CARD Head Start provides at least two staff members in every classroom to help guide the development and learning of our students.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment for preschool-aged children
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through interactive learning activities
- Collaborate with parents and colleagues to support student progress and well-being
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
Qualifications:
- CDA and/or Associate degree in early childhood or related field; preferred
- Proven experience working with young children
- Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Must meet federal and state background check requirements.
The pay rate for an assistant teacher without a CDA will start @ $16.10, with a CDA will start @ $16.40, and an associate degreed teacher will start @$16.99.
Working hours for this position are 7:30am-3:30pm or similar. Children are present in the classroom for 6 hours of the work day. The remaining two hours are for cleaning, planning, and required paperwork.
