Job Title Receptionist
Job Summary
In this position, your primary responsibilities revolve around customer service. You help patients sign in and fill out the proper paperwork, answer and transfer phone calls, schedule appointments over the phone, and answer questions those in the waiting room may have. You also have administrative and data entry duties, including maintaining charts and medical records, filing and organizing. Perform light bookkeeping and financial record-keeping. Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
Patient Service Representative Responsibilities:
- Greet patient and gather patient information.
- Update and verify patient information at every visit.
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility.
- Scheduling patient appointments and making reminder calls as well as returning voicemails.
- Informing patients about delays and waiting times.
- Obtaining patients’ addresses, contact details, insurance information, and medical histories.
- Maintain patient records, conduct thorough follow-up with patients on cancelled and/or missed appointments.
- Assisting patients in filling out patient history forms, consent forms, and payment contract forms, when necessary.
- Providing answers and solutions to patient inquiries and concerns.
- Receiving and processing cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered.
- Reviewing patient accounts, identifying delinquent accounts.
- Answering, investigating, and/or directing patient inquiries or complaints to the appropriate medical staff member.
- Following up with patients to ensure their inquiry or complaint has been satisfactorily resolved.
- Performing administrative and clerical duties, such as filing paperwork, when necessary.
- Collaborate with insurance Agents to meet patient needs by updating insurance coverage.
· Keeping the waiting and reception areas clean and inviting
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Experience working as a patient representative.
- Knowledge of medical terms and practices.
- Professional manner and appearance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
Policies and Procedures: Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Protects patient confidentiality by making sure protected health information (PHI) is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging of the computer before leaving it unattended. Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
