What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Trainer position at Community Alliance?
At Community Alliance, we believe in the potential of recovery for all individuals with mental illness and we dedicate our resources to support the journey of each individual we serve.
Will provide suicide prevention awareness and training focused on the needs of transition-age youth and young adults with a particular focus on underserved groups. Will work as a part of the Healthy Transitions team in raising awareness and skills to improve service delivery and in directly providing awareness training to the population of focus. With the input of the community through a formal needs assessment, the person working in this role will develop and implement a community training plan that is responsive to the results of the needs assessment and identified needs of the youth and young adult. Will present educational trainings directly to youth and young adult groups and community agencies
Will need to be flexible with scheduled trainings on evenings and occasional weekends.
Demonstrated skills and competencies with organization and delivery of academic, professional and/or community outreach, teaching and training modalities and evaluation of same.
Ability to adapt training approach based on varied developmental stages and learning styles, cultures, and abilities
Experience in working positively and effectively with diverse individuals including inter-professional and multi-cultural teams.
Familiarity with community-based behavioral health service and community resources, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care.
Earned Bachelors degree in education, social work, counseling, or other related field from an accredited academic institution and at least two years relevant experience.
