Annual Salary : $55,000 / yr
Position Summary : The PLL Therapist provides parenting education to youth and families living in Seminole County. The PLL Therapist integrates the best principles of a structural family therapy approach into a comprehensive program. The PLL Therapist conducts structured six session group counseling intervention with families and a minimum of 6 family sessions for Community (Alternative to out of home placement) 12 family sessions for youth returning from an out of home placement, with each family that is participating in the program. Provides individual "coaching" to show each family how to use the skills in day-to-day interactions. Maintains clear and concise documentation of case involvement. Collaborates with other service providers, public agencies, and key members of each family's support system. This position will include three to four evenings per week and weekends if necessary.
Technical / Functional Expectations :
- Family Therapy : This position conducts home visits for the family therapy coaching sessions.
- Group Therapy : Leading group therapy sessions for 2 hours per week. The group is 2 hours long with the first hour consisting of parents and youth together and the second hour consisting of a breakout group with the PLL Therapist with the parents and the youth with a co-facilitator. Prepares for each group by setting up and tearing down.
- Motivational Interviewing : Conducts the Motivational Interviewing calls and face-to-face intakes.
- Care Planning : Making reminder calls to families regarding group and coaching sessions. Completing Family Plans for each case.
- Family Team Member : Participate in the Family Team Conference Process. Advocate on behalf of the family when needed.
- Parenting with Love and Limits : This position will adhere to the fidelity of the PLL Model. Maintaining all PLL client data on the PLL Dashboard Database, submit Fidelity Checklists and Model Adherence Measures, administer all research assessment instruments, submit to PLL video recordings of sessions as requested by PLL Supervisor, attend all PLL supervision meetings. Meet twice monthly for two hours with the team to process cases, discuss group breakouts and complete PLL supervision forms.
- Other duties as required : Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties as assigned, assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time to time for developmental purposes.
