Capital Region Women's Care is hiring a Full-time Practice Coordinator, RN . This is a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday. The Practice Coordinator, RN will, provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Assist physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Function as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols
Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality
Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records
Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques
Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers
Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands
Maintain strictest level of confidentiality, discretion, professionalism and work well independently.
Solid interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative and productive relationships while providing quality service.
Excellent PC skills.
Strong understanding of national, state and local regulations and laws as they pertain to the healthcare industry.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a proactive, persuasive manner.
Strong time management, patient relations, multitasking and telephone etiquette skills.
Knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments
Essential Function include, but are not limited to:
Document verbal conversations with patients when appropriate
Document information into patient record in an accurate, legible and timely manner
Obtain patient signature on Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) according to Medicare requirements
Maintain timely patient flow
Prepare patient for visit as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements
Assess vital signs and the reason for each patient visit.
Obtain specimens (i.e., urine, blood, etc.) from patients as directed by the provider
Accurate and timely order entry into the lab system
Review all urgent and critical lab results per practice protocol and coordinate a plan of care with the supervising physician, based on these findings
Perform clinical office procedures as required by the provider (i.e. EKG, PFT, nebulizer etc.).
Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments
Triage patient phone calls: collect, analyze and create a well-documented plan of care for the patient based on their presenting symptoms and expected healthcare outcome
Process patient prescriptions
Keep up to date and informed on company/office policies and procedures through staff meetings, correspondence, etc.
Communicate with specialist offices/diagnostic facilities to schedule appointments/testing and instruct patients on testing procedures
Issue necessary referrals based on insurance requirements
Obtain prior authorization based on insurance requirements
Must be aware of patient confidentiality and bring any concerns to the Site’s Managing/Lead Physician
Communicate any patient concerns or complaints to the Site’s Managing/Lead Physician
Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies
Update patient problem sheet daily
Administer and record vaccines
Discuss test results with patients per provider’s instructions
Coordinate aspects of day-to-day office operations including the coordination of all office tasks and duties, patient registration, telephone reception and triage, appointments, referrals, medical transcription, ordering of supplies, review of purchase orders and invoices, review of packing slips and forwarding of packing slips to purchasing clerk, and maintenance of equipment and instruments

Annual salary range: $60,406.00- $98,000.00
