Job Description
Community Church at Lake Wylie exists to reach every generation with the love and hope of Jesus Christ. To that end, we are seeking to hire an Audio-Visual Director who will build and lead a team that supports our choir, orchestra, and Senior Pastor in providing an excellent and worshipful Sunday service.
We are a growing church undergoing renovations to our campus and worship spaces, so there are great opportunities on the horizon for leadership in this area of our ministry.
Start date: May 1, 2025 (with some training beforehand)
Responsibilities
- Oversee all audio/visual aspects of our worship services and the accompanying live stream, including creating slideshows for worship and the message.
- Develop a volunteer team of at least 3-4 people who can competently operate our sanctuary A/V systems and share responsibility for various church events that require A/V elements.
- Keep the podcast and YouTube page up to date on a weekly basis
- Create content for sharing on social media, including short clips of Sunday messages
- Ensure A/V is covered for occasional special events, some occurring during the week (e.g. weddings, funerals or graduations). These can be handled personally or delegated to someone else on the A/V team.
Schedule: 7 hours a week
- Approximately 4.5 on Sundays (onsite), 2.5 during the week (onsite or remote)
Professional Qualifications
- Proven expertise in running live sound, lights, and video
- Experience working with large ensembles
- Capability of managing a simultaneous live stream (including mixing sound for online audience)
- Familiarity with relevant software (e.g. Planning Center, ProPresenter)
- Clear and consistent communication with co-workers and volunteers
- Strong time-management skills and the capacity to multitask
- Ability to calmly and effectively troubleshoot

Compensation
- $300/week (which is $15,600/year)
- On certain holidays that require extra services (e.g. Christmas Eve/Easter), we will pay you at the same rate for any time that exceeds the 7 hour/week allotment.
- Occasional special events may provide additional compensation (paid by the outside organization using our facility).
