What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enrollment Services Specialist position at Community College System of New Hampshire?
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provides a welcoming environment for all students and guests of the college. Assists prospective and current students with basic financial aid, billing policies and processes, admissions, and registration; makes referrals for advising, counseling, and other college services as may be needed.
- Acts as the first point of contact for general student financial aid inquiries and handles all financial aid inquiries addressed to the college website and dedicated voicemail.
- Assists students with the completion of the FAFSA and other required forms and provides assistance on the proper usage of technology platforms including but not limited to Banner, SIS, email, online payment plans, FAFSA, Navigate and Canvas.
- Assists students, families, and the college community general financial aid policies and procedures and refers elevated or complex financial aid matters to the appropriate CCSNH financial aid resource.
- Assists with the onboarding of students who receive Federal Work Study
- Helps facilitate onboarding appointments for new students.
- Regularly communicates with CCSNH financial aid office and maintains currency with federal and system financial aid policies and practices. .
- Assists in the processing of satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and collaborates with advising staff on strategic efforts.
- Communicates scholarship opportunities to the College community and assists with various college enrollment events such as Open Houses, Orientations and Express Admissions.
- Attends workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional development.
- Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate’ degree from a recognized college or university. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Two years’ experience in a business and/or education environment with experience in administrative or technical support, providing information to others and/or customer service. Each additional year of approved experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in an academic institution.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of record keeping and reporting. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate and analyze facts and identify existing or potential problems. Ability to contribute to the development of sound operational procedures. Ability to exercise sound judgment in appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data, or resources in organizing required information. Ability to meet with students and the public and explain programs sponsored by the college. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Strong organizational skills and ability to complete tasks accurately and within established timelines. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
