A Day in the Life: 40 hours per week This job is about:
The Council hosts events, such as monthly network luncheons and training/education programs. It leads a coalition and sponsors events focused on finding solutions to specific community needs, such as hunger, homelessness and affordable housing. The Council leads HUD-mandated programs to address homelessness in our community, including the Continuum of Care, Homeless Management Information System and Coordinated Entry.

It hosts the annual Community Services Summit serving the community, Community Builder Award recognizing outstanding efforts of organizations and individuals along with other programs and events. Membership opportunities are available to individuals and organizations who want to actively support and participate in community-building activities.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to lead the development marketing strategies and materials, and to cultivate community relationships that strengthen organizational membership, coordinate the annual Community Services Summit. Additionally, manage website development and updates.

IN THIS JOB YOU WILL:

Engage, recruit and meet with members, including Community Partners, and potential speakers/programs for monthly networking luncheons.

Lead and coordinate CC events to include planning, execution and recap with Team members and systems (Salesforce, Pheedloop, etc.)

Identify targeted membership needs in conjunction with ED to satisfy potential voids.

Create sponsorship opportunities in conjunction with events: CSS, CBA and luncheons for example.

Manage social media accounts and post content to publicize programs and educate community on social services issues using Hootsuite.

Prepare marketing strategies and materials for programs, services, and events.

Work with the Board of Directors with regard to marketing activities.

Develop and update web content consistent with organizational branding and strategy.

Produce the weekly E-newsletter and associated web information.

Participate in Community Council functions including CSS, CBA and Networking Luncheons.

Strong organizational and program management skills that include excellent follow through and strong attention to detail.

An ability to think strategically and analytically.

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or comparable degree.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with social media/internet products.

Proficiency in Hootsuite.

Database management skills (Salesforce)

Basic Duties:

1. E-Newsletter (Constant Contact, PicNet)

o Review emails, social media for items to include in the newsletter.

o Create Member Announcements and Calendar Events in website.

o Create Newsletter in Constant Contact and link articles to website announcements/events.

o Update E-News Subscriptions in Constant Contact and Salesforce.

2. Print Marketing CANVA

o Design and write brochures, fliers, posters, banners, business cards, etc.

o Design and produce CSS fliers, brochures and signage.

o Research and order promotional items, as needed.

3. Video Marketing (CANVA)

o Create/Update videos for website.

4. E-Mail Marketing (Constant Contact)

o Marketing for programs/events (including CSS, CBA, Network Luncheons and workshops).

5. PowerPoint Presentations

o Create slide presentations for Luncheons, workshops and events

o Create CANVA and/or PowerPoint presentations

6. Press Releases/PSAs only as needed

o Send releases to newspapers, magazines, online media, radio, tv

o Conduct interviews, as needed.

7. Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter – HootSuite)

o Manage and create content for sites.

o Respond to questions in comments, messages

o Engage with member posts and content

8. Copy Editing

o Edit letters, communications by staff, as requested.

9. Website Administration (PicNet)

o Maintain content.

o Mange the format and look of the organizations website

o Build new events and pages, as needed.

o Update “News” section and scrolling banner on Home Page.

o Update Community Partner/membership information on Home Page.

10. Membership and Community Partners

o Complete membership invoicing monthly

o Follow up with members regarding their renewal

o Maintain membership information in Salesforce

o Send thank you notes in appreciation of their continued membership.

o Maintain Constant Contact Membership templates and send accordingly

o Welcome New Member

o Thank You for Renewing

o We Miss You…Come Back to Community Council

o Update Membership Processes

· Sponsorships (Salesforce)

11. Create campaigns for events

o Maintain member/partner info in Salesforce.

o Enter member/partner prospects into the Project Management system.

o Track sponsorship information in Salesforce campaigns and run needed reports.

12. Board of Directors

o Post Board reports on the Board Portal to include financials and specific Board information

o Attend and present as needed for events, sponsorships, activities, etc.

13. Strategic Planning

o Participate in Engagement Planning Committee with Board.

o Assist in operational and general strategic planning, as requested.

14. Community Relations

o Chambers, Rotary, Community Events, etc.

o Speaking engagements or host exhibits, including community organizations.

15. Community Services Summit

o Coordinate all aspects of the Community Services Summit and act as main point of contact for all issues related to event

o Facilitate monthly planning team meetings and oversee work of the volunteer committees

o Collaborate with venue staff for use of facilities

o Provide evaluation of event to ensure that the needs of professionals who assist children and families are met

o Assist with obtaining financial and in-kind donations within to meet budget

o PR/Marketing of event

o Oversee selection of opening session, breakout session and coordination of speakers

o Oversee exhibit hall (committee work, set up, clean up, exhibitor registration)

o Oversee refreshments (committee work, ordering, donations, set up and clean up)

o Coordinate with St. Charles Community College to provide CEU credit for participants

o Coordinate volunteers and room hosts for event

o Manage and oversee implementation of the day of the event including problem-solving, welcoming participants, directing event set-up, communicating with participants, exhibitors, volunteers, speakers and managing clean up

o (WITH ASSISTANT) Use technology to coordinate the Summit (Pheedloop, Salesforce, Constant Contact)

o (WITH ASSISTANT) Set up registration through Pheedloop, provide follow up information to registrants, produce and collage nametags

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
