CCCS is currently recruiting for a Case Manager at Bismarck Transition Center
Case Managers are responsible for providing support and guidance to the residents on their caseload while monitoring all aspects of participation in CCCS, Inc. programs. The goal of the Case Manager is to ensure residents adhere to program and societal rules while establishing a release plan supporting a crime free lifestyle.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs case management and counseling duties for up to 25 residents.
2. Meets with each resident on caseload for individual sessions on a weekly basis.
3. Assists residents with the development of an appropriate, objective contract which delineates what the resident will accomplish while in the Bismarck Transition Center, associated time lines, detail plans for accomplishing goals, and documentation of compliance with the contract.
4. Evaluates resident performance, presenting assessments at regular reviews and translating evaluations into behavioral ratings according to established operating procedures.
5. Assists residents with establishing suitable parole or release plans in accordance with the requirements of the North Dakota Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation.
6. Investigates and compiles written reports concerning alleged rule infractions by residents as required.
7. Serves on disciplinary adjustment committees to mediate house rule violations and correct non-adaptive behavior.
8. Completes reports required by the Case Manager Supervisor including, but not limited to, complete and accurate case notes, monthly progress reports on each assigned resident, Parole Board reports, monthly chronological reports and termination reports.
9. Maintains all required case records and manages file materials within the limits of confidentiality requirements.
10. Meets with assigned resident assistants on a weekly basis to disseminate appropriate caseload information.
11. Intervenes and assists in crisis management.
12. Attends staff and program meetings as required by supervisory staff and CCCS, Inc. corporate policies and procedures.
13. Demonstrates knowledge & responsibility in performance of duties as prescribed by facility procedures.
14. Applies the appropriate practices in Intake, Discharge, Contractor Reports, Individual Sessions, Risk Assessment, Motivational Interviewing, and Social Learning Theory
15. Works well under pressure and maintains self-control.
16. Motivates and works well with residents.
17. Receptive to change and new ideas.
19. Is receptive to supervision and demonstrates an ability to apply and master supervision recommendations.
Other Job Functions:
All other duties as assigned by the Case Manager Supervisor.
Required Annual Training:
Employees new to CCCS, Inc. are required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training relevant to their position during the first year of employment.
Case Managers are required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training during each year of employment. A minimum of thirty (30) of the hours must include training specific to the employment assignment.
Additional training hours may be required for disciplinary, emergency, or program-need reasons as determined by the Director.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions require resilience, the ability to deal with stressful situations such as verbal confrontations with residents, ability to act quickly to de-escalate potentially explosive situations. The possibility of physical aggression must be anticipated. Mental alertness as to be able to handle any incident with minimal physical force necessary to defend oneself, others, and property is necessary.
Approximately 90% of work is spent inside in a climate-controlled environment with background noise. Approximately 10% of work is spent outside, in vehicles, or in other buildings, etc. Local and statewide travel may be required.
Case Managers work five (5), eight (8) hour shifts per week. Case Managers may be required to work any shift including day, afternoon or graveyard.
Considerable documentation and paperwork requirements exist. Case Managers must be able to organize and manage time effectively and keep records orderly and up to date. Typing skills are necessary.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions
Approximately 40% of time is spent standing or moving around working areas and outside locations. Balance of time (approximately 60%) is spent seated while working at a desk or in meetings.
: Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary with the public, contacts, and co-workers.
Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary for effective use of computer screens.
Good manual dexterity for computer keyboard use and the ability to retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment, and supplies. Good physical condition for possible defense of oneself, others, or property at CCCS, Inc. facilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

3. Ability to assess priorities and work well under pressure; excellent time-management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
4. Ability to work professionally and tactfully with contacts, the public and co-workers.
5. Professional and businesslike in appearance and demeanor.

7. Knowledge of computers and appropriate software packages.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Sciences or appropriate Behavioral Science field.
2. Must have the ability to relate with residents in a firm, empathetic fashion.
3. Must have experience and demonstration ability in records management.
4. Certification in CPR, First Aid
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working with adult offenders and/or experience working in a residential treatment facility.
2. Familiarity with reality therapy, transactional analysis, and/or any cognitive behavioral therapies.
