What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of School (SY 2025-2026) position at Community Day Charter Public School?
The Head of School will work with the Chief Academic Officer to develop and implement the academic, social and cultural life of the school.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Experience working with school-aged children;
Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred;
Seasoned supervisor and accomplished manager with background in education and a perspective and vision for quality education.
- Manages grade level teams;
- Collaborates on the hiring of staff and teachers;
- Supervises school staff and teachers;
- Works with the Chief Academic Officer to develop and implement the academic, social and cultural life of the school;
- Develops and supports a standards based curriculum that results in high academic achievement on language and math literacy;
- Utilizes a system of assessment that incorporates information into effective action planning for all grades and sections in the school;
- Collaborates on the development and implementation of school policies;
- Supervises the position of operations manager in supporting all school operations (including physical plant);
- Supports the parent program that builds positive parent-school partnerships;
- Collaborates and implements school-related line items on the school budget;
- Collaborates with other HOS to convene and support parent advisory board; and
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
