What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adventure Club Facilitator - 195 Day position at Community Ed?
POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Community Ed team, the Adventure Club Facilitator provides support in operation of the Adventure Club school-age care program to ensure the program furthers the mission of Community Ed in the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the program site as needed, including supervision of staff and attendance of all children.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and supervise activities of children and staff at assigned site in accordance with program standards to ensure safety and accountability.
- Supervise, train, support and evaluate program site staff.
- Coordinate substitute staff for site as needed.
- Serve in ratio for site as needed, which can include providing up to 1:1 assistance to meet the needs of individual children.
- Document incidents with staff and children and follow up as appropriate.
- Submit and maintain records as required for children, staff and program.
- Participate in student Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and 504 meetings with school staff as needed; ensure adherence to student plans as required, which can include providing appropriate accommodations for students.
- Foster professional growth and moral for site staff.
- Ensure payroll for site staff is submitted in a timely manner.
- Schedule and direct essential program drills as required.
- Ensure families are greeted daily and appropriate information is communicated.
- Supports the program through planning and attendance at events and meetings outside of scheduled hours as needed, including family events.
- Purchase necessary supplies for site within budget and on time.
- Direct staff in maintenance of program areas and supplies.
- Participate in professional growth by attending and/or participating at appropriate workshops, conferences and staff meetings.
- Serve on various Adventure Club, school, Community Ed and department committees as needed.
- Serve as mentor to new Facilitators as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, department staff, other District personnel and the community.
- Ability to set up an appropriate environment which may include moving furniture, carrying supplies, and lifting equipment.
- Ability to access assigned locations within the Parkway and/or Rockwood School Districts.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early morning or evening hours when required.
- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs either individually or with a co-worker as needed.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED/HSE required.
- College degree preferred.
- Two years experience working with children in a similar setting required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.

- Within assigned building(s) in Parkway and Rockwood locations; outside of school buildings as needed, which may include during inclement weather.
