What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Age Childcare, School Year Assistant position at COMMUNITY EDUCATION?
The Compass School Age Childcare program offers a comprehensive and enriching experience for
students in grades PreK-5. Our daily activities include academic enrichment, structured activities, self-
directed learning, indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts, games, social time, sports and recreation,
and more. Each component is expected to be included every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing daily lesson plans and supervising students.
- Participate actively in all student activities, including setup and cleanup.
- Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Maintain a positive attitude and a growth mindset at all times.
Qualifications:
- Patience, empathy, compassion, and strong communication skills.
- Creativity, responsibility, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and energy, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- A positive team player with professionalism.
- Enjoys being active and spending time outdoors.
- No prior child care experience is required, but must have an interest in working with children
Pay:
- Starting at $14.00/hr $3.00/hr quarterly stipend (some conditions may apply) - Age 16 - 18
- Starting at $15.00/hr $3.00/hr quarterly stipend (some conditions may apply) - Over 18 with
HS Diploma/GED
Hours:
- Flexible shifts available:
- Full-time split shift, PT AM, PT PM
- Flexible days and flexible hours
- Immediate need for coverage from 2:00-3:30 pm
- Ability to stack hours with other district positions to qualify for benefits at 32 hours/week

Carlos Elementary School: 2:15-5:30 pm
Garfield Elementary School: 2:15-5:30 pm
Miltona Elementary School: 6:30-8:00 am and/or 2:45-5:30 pm
Lincoln Elementary School: 6:30-7:30 am and/or 2:30-5:30 pm
Voyager Elementary School: 6:30-7:15 am and/or 2:00-5:30 pm
Woodland Elementary School: 6:30-7:15 am and/or 2:00-5:30 pm
Early Education Center: 6:30-8:00 am and/or 2:15-5:30 pm
