Why we are hiring a Director of Development:
We are looking for an individual to step into this important position on our team. This new role will play a critical part in the growth and impact of the Community Foundation by advancing our relationship-based fundraising efforts to secure major gifts for key programs and events. The Director of Development will help develop and deliver strategies for donor engagement and stewardship as important components of the development plan. This individual will be an enthusiastic and visible champion to increase awareness of the Foundation and our work. The Foundation has over 700 charitable funds which collectively have more than $130 million in assets, and in 2024 these funds received more than $12 million in new gifts and distributed more than $14 million in grants back into the community. It is an exciting time at the Community Foundation, and we need someone to help harness the opportunity as we see interest in our organization and the services we have to offer continue to grow.
The Director of Development is a full-time role with the option to flex up to two days per week remote. This team member will report to our VP of Development & Donor Services.
How you would spend your time:
· 40% stewarding and cultivating individual, corporate, and foundation relationships to sustain and grow annual and endowment gifts to the Holland/Zeeland Promise Program. Develop and present tailored presentations to current and prospective donors. In partnership with Communications Officer draft and disseminate regular communications with donors and partners to share the impact of the Promise program. Organize events to raise awareness of the program and build relationships.
· 25% in partnership with the VP of Development & Donor Services and the Communications Officer, provide vision and support to campaigns to grow awareness and support of CFHZ. Most immediately develop a vision for CFHZ’s 75th Anniversary in 2026 which will include launching a community-wide awareness campaign. Secure and steward sponsorship and partnership for all events and activities related to the 75th Anniversary campaign. Provide vision and support to all future campaigns to grow awareness and support of CFHZ.
· 20% stewarding and cultivating individual, corporate, and foundation relationships to support the operating fund by securing and increasing annual gifts and sponsorships for events and publications.
· 15% support achievement of Development & Donor Services annual goals in partnership with VP of Development & Donor Services, Donor Services and Events Manager, Communications Officer, and President & CEO. This will include activity, communications, and stewardship goals.

How you will be compensated:
· Full time, 40 hours per week, $75,000 annual salary
· Paid time off—20 accrued days per year, plus 9 permanent holidays, 3 floating holidays, and 7 half day summer Fridays
