What are the responsibilities and job description for the CRNP position at Community Guidance Center?
- Psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of Treatment/Service Plan. Medical assessment with appropriate referral, as needed. Medication Prescription/Administration. Ordering of injections, to include IM injections, labs and other diagnostic testing. Physician consultation and follow up, as needed using open communication. Initiate appropriate medical and psychiatric emergency management of consumers, including referral, as needed. Collaborate with other Center disciplines and community resources to provide optimal consumer care. Provide comprehensive and timely psychiatric documentation. Demonstrate fluency in DSM-V and ICD-10 diagnostics. Administer injections, as medically necessary.
- Promote advanced practice clinical care in a behavioral health care setting by utilization of critical thinking and decision-making with a positive attitude, ethical and moral infrastructure consistent with the goals of the Center using social learning. Provide quality, cost-effective, continuity of care to all consumers served by the Center using emotional intelligence. Assist with the continuation of role development of a behavioral medicine NP including familiarity with existing and future NP bi-laws and state and federal regulations. Act as resource to nurses and other ancillary persons in the area of medical/psychiatric health care expertise by social learning. Participate on internal committees, as indicated. Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) processes, as indicated promoting growth and change.
- Act as resource person for medical, psychiatric, and pharmacological issues.
- Promote the professional image of the role of a NP to others.
- Address consumer and medication related concerns/consults within Center established timeframes.
- Openly communicate in an effective and courteous manner with other medical providers, pharmacist, clinical staff, PCP’s and other ancillary service providers in order to maintain a positive working environment and ensure strong care coordination for the consumer.
