The Licensed Mental Health Counselor assists patients, and their families understand a particular illness, work through the emotions of a diagnosis, and provide counseling about the decisions that need to be made. Qualifications
Education:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling
- Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within the first 30-days of employment.
- Must obtain the Functional Assessment Rating Scale (FARS) and Children's Functional Assessment Rating Scale (CFARS) certification within the first 2 weeks of employment.
- 2 years previous experience in social service or clinical behavioral healthcare setting is required.
- Experience in an ambulatory health center preferred.
- Requires someone familiar with and sensitive to multiple cultures, family customs and child rearing practices.
- Familiarity with multicultural groups, previous work experience in a multicultural setting and willingness to enroll language and multicultural coursework to supplement training if necessary.
- Knowledge of EHR software or equivalent, preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and client information in a professional manner.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to work flexible hours including weekends as needed.
