Job Overview
Community Health Services is a dedicated nonprofit public health clinic based in Aspen, Colorado. We believe access to affordable preventive health services is essential to the well-being of Roaring Fork Valley and the overall health of our community.
As Development & Communications Coordinator, you’ll architect and champion our resource development strategy, directly enabling us to expand our reach and deepen our community impact. You’ll work closely with the leadership team to secure sustainable funding through grants, individual giving, and corporate partnerships. This is a part-time contractor position.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
· Support design of and execute ambitious annual fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals
· Partner with leadership to develop data-driven budgets and growth forecasts
· Deliver compelling presentations to board and stakeholders on fundraising performance, progress, and opportunities
· Lead the creation of an annual impact report and program evaluation
Revenue Generation & Grant Management
· Identify and secure new grant opportunities that align with our mission
· Craft persuasive grant proposals and ensure timely reporting
· Spearhead annual giving campaigns from concept to execution
· Build and nurture relationships with foundations and institutional funders
Donor Engagement & Community Building
· Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate and retain major donors
· Help build meaningful partnerships with corporate and community stakeholders
· Manage a donor database with meticulous attention to detail
· Create engaging donor communications calendar and stewardship programs
Communication and Marketing
· Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications strategies using data
· Oversee creation of compelling content for website, social media, and print materials
· Lead brand development and consistency across all platforms
· Create engaging storytelling campaigns that highlight program impact
· Coordinate production of newsletters, annual reports, and marketing collateral
Qualifications:
· 3 years of nonprofit development experience with demonstrated fundraising success
· Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
· Excellence in written and verbal communication, including public speaking
· Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and donor databases
· Deep understanding of local cultural contexts and community dynamics
· Proven ability to lead collaborative initiatives across staff, board, and volunteer groups
Preferred Skills:
· Proficiency in fundraising platforms (Givebutter, Kindsight/iwave)
· Strong cross-team communication and stakeholder engagement
· Ability to motivate teams and drive strategic initiatives
· Self-directed problem-solver with creative thinking skills
· Microsoft and Google Office suite proficiency
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain databases and CRM software to track donor information and fundraising efforts.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance organizational visibility.
- Conduct research to identify potential funding sources and grant opportunities.
- Plan and coordinate events to engage stakeholders and promote fundraising initiatives.
- Foster relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners to support organizational goals.
- Assist in proposal writing and strategic planning to secure funding and resources.
Qualifications
- Proficient in database management and CRM software, including Salesforce and Raiser's Edge
- Strong marketing and fundraising skills with experience in proposal writing
- Excellent research and data collection abilities
- Demonstrated event planning and relationship management expertise
- Familiarity with nonprofit management and estate planning concepts
- Effective public relations and social media management skills.
