What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Assistant position at Community Health Services?
Repair and maintain, or coordinate the repair and maintenance by external vendors, of facilities and equipment. Support a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by performing custodial, janitorial, and maintenance services. Act as contact for emergency situations that affect the organization’s ability to open for business.
Essential Functions:
- Perform minor repairs consistent with training and licensure, including replacing light bulbs, hanging pictures and installing shelving
- Make periodic rounds throughout the inside and outside of the building to monitor and maintain a safe and secure healthcare environment
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications; communicate with department manager regarding contractor performance
- Ensure facility needs are handled timely by completing and closing facilities requests
- Coordinate and assist with departmental and employee moves
- Dismantle, install, and move furniture and other objects
- Perform cleaning duties in accordance with infection control standards
- If authorized to do so, transport goods, equipment, or staff in company vehicles
- Maintain a customer service orientation at all times, responding to service requests and patient inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
- Support the security department by providing front desk coverage, assisting visitors and staff with parking needs, and reporting identified security events
- Maintain professional and appropriate relationships with visitors, patients, and staff members
- Prepare and provide reports to leadership in emergency situations; submit detailed reports through the CHS incident reporting system
- During inclement weather, ensure walkways and access points are clear and safe by removing snow, ice, and other potential safety hazards
- Participate in and assist in coordinating, as necessary, emergency preparedness drills
- Perform all duties in accordance with CHS Core Values, Compliance Program, and other policies and procedures
- Participate in quality and process improvement efforts in the department and the organization as requested or as directed
- Complete training and professional development requirements in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.87 - $19.86 per hour
