Job Summary
Community Care College seeks a Maintenance Technician to provide general maintenance for three college campuses. Performs routine and preventative maintenance and repair procedures on college buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems. Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills, a sense of urgency, customer service, and be safety-oriented. The ideal candidate will have commercial maintenance experience (i.e., apartment complexes, commercial facilities, etc.). Must be in good physical condition with the energy and ability for general labor, walking, performing heavy lifting, and climbing ladders. Must be dependable, meet deadlines, and carry out tasks with a strong sense of urgency, customer service, and safety. Full-time Monday - Friday, full benefits! Must have a valid driver's license, clean background check, and drug screen.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists with repairs and maintenance as determined by the supervisor or as needed (through service work checklists, preventative maintenance, mechanic challenges, and operation testing).
- Perform all preventative maintenance on equipment scheduled. (i.e., service work, adjustments, or cleaning)
- Perform walk-around inspections on equipment by checking equipment for condition and parts to be repaired or replaced
- Maintain documentation as needed
- Participate in departmental training on equipment to the satisfaction of the supervisor
- Report the status of equipment to the supervisor through verbal communications to ensure proper functions and safety
- Repair and replace items such as valves, bearings, seals, fans, and pumps as needed
- Keep all maintenance supply and equipment areas clean and organized
- Assists in setting up equipment for special events as needed
- Checks performance of equipment as assigned and reports deficiencies
- Adhere to vehicle policy guidelines when using a company vehicle
- Create an environment of excellence in customer service toward students, staff, and visitors
- Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the maintenance office
- Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required
- Other duties as assigned

- Commercial maintenance experience preferred
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to fellow employees to perform the above-listed duties. The employee must frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb, or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
