We're searching for a kind person to help someone in our neighborhood. This person needs support with daily activities like bathing, getting ready for bed, eating meals, going out for fun adventures, and using a special lift to move around. They are also a big fan of Nascar!
Community Horizons is passionately supporting the search for a private caregiver to join a loving in-home care team. In this fulfilling role, you will provide vital support and hands-on assistance with personal care and housekeeping tasks. Your efforts will play a crucial role in helping this community member maintain their cherished independence at home.
This position is part of the self-direction program, which means you'll work directly for the individuals who need your support. This arrangement not only offers greater flexibility and control over your schedule but also fosters a more personal and meaningful working relationship, as the member will hire you directly, bypassing the agency.
Schedule:
Tuesday and Wednesday 3 pm – 11 pm
Every other Friday 3 pm – 11 pm, Saturday 7 am – 3 pm, Sunday 3 pm – 11 pm
Pay: 16.32/Hour
Some of the tasks they need help with:
- Be gentle when helping with their catheter
- Be supportive and friendly during G-tube feedings
- Drive them around safely and enjoy spending time together
- Help them use a sling lift safely
- Help with daily personal care like showering, shaving, getting dressed, and brushing their teeth
- Hand out their medications kindly when it's time
What you need to do well in this job:
- You should be able to clear a background check easily
- You need a current driver’s license to drive safely

Self-direction gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them.
