Since they have brittle diabetes, it’s super important to have some tasty snacks on hand for them. Your friendship could really make a difference for them!
Community Horizons is passionately supporting the search for a private caregiver to join a loving in-home care team. In this fulfilling role, you will provide vital support and hands-on assistance with personal care and housekeeping tasks. Your efforts will play a crucial role in helping this community member maintain their cherished independence at home.
This position is part of the self-direction program, which means you'll work directly for the individuals who need your support. This arrangement not only offers greater flexibility and control over your schedule but also fosters a more personal and meaningful working relationship, as the member will hire you directly, bypassing the agency.
Schedule: Weeknights are 10 pm - 8 am, Weekends are 10:30 pm – 7:30 am
Week 1 - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat
Week 2 - Sun, Wed, Th
Tasks:
- Keep an eye on their blood sugar.
- If they're awake and don't want to sleep, find some calm activities to do together.
- Enjoy reading interesting stories together.
- Play soothing music to create a nice atmosphere in the room.
- Assist them with personal care like cleaning up after using the restroom.
What you need to succeed:
- You need a driver's license and a car you can depend on.
- If you have experience taking care of others, that's great, but it's not a must. We will teach you if you're the right fit!
- We need to do a background check.
Community Horizons offers support for individuals enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organizations or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) throughout Wisconsin. Self-direction gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them. Community Horizons is not the employer on record; members make all hiring decisions with the involvement of a third-party fiscal agent responsible for payroll.
