Caregiver for Community Integration
Are you a caregiver looking for a few extra hours? Do you have experience working with those who have developmental disabilities and are nonverbal? If you can assist every other Friday or Saturday, please consider working with an amazing woman in need of your assistance and a wonderful family in the Biron/Plover/ Wisconsin Rapids area.
If you enjoy going into the community to shop, go for walks, or just sightseeing, this position is for you. Consider sharing your time with someone else who needs to do the same.
Wage: $16.32 per hour
Hours of Need:
* Every other Friday or Saturday for 6-8 hours.
* Occasional daytime or evening pickup shifts may also be available.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
· Community Integration: Trips to various places in the community to get exercise and maintain this member’s independence and comfort level in social settings.
- Visit places such as the community center, library, stores, and parks for walking, shopping, and sightseeing activities.
- Personal care includes showering, dressing, feminine hygiene, etc.
- Food preparation
- Coordinating appropriate activities
Ideal Candidates will possess:
- A valid driver's license/reliable transportation for daily community integration.
- A Calm, Caring, Patient, Positive and Motivated Attitude
- Understanding, Compassionate,
- Someone who can just “Go with the Flow”
- Developmentally disabled/healthcare background
- Experience working with nonverbal individuals
- Familiarity with those who experience anxiety
- Favorable Wisconsin background check.

Community Horizons offers support for individuals enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organizations or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) throughout Wisconsin. Self-direction gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them. Community Horizons is not the employer on record, members make all hiring decisions with the involvement of a third-party fiscal agent responsible for payroll.
