A local community member is looking for someone to help out with running errands and cleaning her home when her regular staff is unavailable due to appointments or time off. She wants to hire someone to help out when these situations happen.
Community Horizons is passionately supporting the search for a private caregiver to join a loving in-home care team. In this fulfilling role, you will provide vital support and hands-on assistance with personal care and housekeeping tasks. Your efforts will play a crucial role in helping this community member maintain their cherished independence at home.
This position is part of the self-direction program, which means you'll work directly for the individuals who need your support. This arrangement not only offers greater flexibility and control over your schedule but also fosters a more personal and meaningful working relationship, as the member will hire you directly, bypassing the agency.
Schedule: Tuesdays and Fridays 11 am - 3 pm
Pay: $16.32/hour, you can also get paid back $0.35 / mile for mileage if you're giving the person a ride
Tasks:
- Sprucing up spaces with lots of love and care
- Whipping up delicious meals that make everyone feel warm and happy
- Helping with rides to get around for shopping, running errands, and having some fun outings
The ideal candidate will be:
- Super friendly
- Dependable and trustworthy
- You’ve got to be cool with cats and not have any allergies
- Background check has to be clean
- Definitely need a valid driver’s license and be okay with driving the person around the neighborhood

Self-directing gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them.
