Supervisor: Controller
Compensation: $75,000-$100,000 per year

Our Accountant will work as part of the administrative team to provide coordination of financial and management information systems. They will work under the controller to process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll assistance, and other accounting support as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collecting rents, maintaining tenant ledgers, GL reconciliations
- Works with daily accounts payable, receivable, and payroll to assure timely payments and reconciliation for accounts.
- Maintain general ledger and supporting documentation per agency procedures and audit firm guidelines (GAAP).
- Processes payroll per agency schedule
- Make accurate cross-check and reconciliations to balance sheets per information provided by Controller or other reconciliations as indicated.
- Generates monthly and quarterly financial statements in coordination with Controller.
- Generates financial information as requested
- Assists Executive Director and Controller in budget preparations.
- Prepares work papers and research questions for yearly independent audit.
- Maintain member and staff confidentiality at all times
- Works with other administrative staff to maintain office functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other related field or
- Minimum 2 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping/payroll
- Ability to do accrual method accounting
- Ability to operate agency computer system and MRI Affordable Housing property management software or similar
- Experience with Paycom payroll software
- Ability to analyze complex accounting problems
- Ability to work under pressure caused by tight deadlines
- Have legible handwriting
- Nonprofit experience preferred
