Job Title: Safety & Security Liaison FLSA: Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Director of Housing
Pay Range: $30.00-$32.00 per hour

CHMHA has great positions opening for a Safety & Security Liaison(s).
Our Safety & Security Liaison(s) are responsible for preparing for and responding to incidents that involve tenants and visitors to our Patricia K. building. There is special emphasis on challenges related to severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders, that impact the safety and security of tenants at the site. You primarily work with another Safety and Security Liaison during 6 hours of a 10-hour shift. There will be janitorial duties during the overlap of shifts which will be shared by team members. The available shift would be overnight Friday-Sunday.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrols Patricia K and adjacent grounds, parking lots, and operating entry into the building via electronic entry exit door.
- Respond to disruptive persons events with de-escalation techniques to neutralize situations and mitigate negative outcomes.
- Provides on-site stand-by service or escort services for tenants when requested.
- Reports potential conduct issues and violation of policies by tenants to the Director of Housing and Property Manager.
- Address trespassing concerns including working with local authorities to establish restrictions for those not allowed entry into the building.
- Coordinate with external safety and law enforcement agencies in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Involvement in emergency preparedness, including but not limited to workplace violence prevention training, overseeing designated drills/exercises, and annual emergency/risk assessment.
- Reports and documents all incidents using standard process.
- General cleaning duties when time allows such as routine bathroom/laundry room cleaning and trash management.
- Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or education equivalent
- Ability to prioritize to maximize performance of duties, as well as reevaluation of priorities in response to changes in circumstances.
- Ability to communicate complex and/or technical information through various methods (e.g., correspondence, memos, letters, emails) in a manner that can be easily understood by coworkers or associates.
- Ability to perform duties outlined in description within reasonable accommodations.
- Either currently hold or willing to apply for DOL security guard license within 90 days of hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- First Aid and/or CPR certification
- Experience in a social service setting helpful.
- A working knowledge and adherence to all agency policies and procedures.
- Experience with de-escalation strategies to resolve significant conflicts that may arise as a safety and security liaison.
