Our Community Support Services team here at CHMHA has a fantastic opportunity for a Supportive Housing Supervisor.
The Supportive Housing Supervisor works as part of a team to coordinate programming and services for the Standard Supportive Housing (SSH) and Intensive Supporting Housing (ISH) programs in compliance with applicable government regulations, contracts, company policies, and the established policies and procedures of the program. This position supervises SSH and ISH staff and ensures program fidelity through quality assurance activities.

Essential Job Duties:
- Provide oversight, training, supervision, and ongoing reviews for all assigned staff
- Develop, implement, and maintain housing support services to meet client needs and Washington Administrative Codes (WACs)
- Monitor billable and non-billable activity and work to maintain enrollment and appropriate service delivery levels per assigned Level of Care and individual client needs
- Complete reporting and adjust service delivery and measures, as needed to meet current contractual requirements with other entities, such as King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and others as assigned
- Provide regular supervision, direction, and documentation for assigned staff, including individual meetings, group staff meetings, chart reviews, training requirements, performance issues, etc.
- Conduct interviews and hire staff in coordination with HR for open positions
- Practice good financial stewardship of agency and contract resources, including how time is being spent, supplies are used, property is being maintained, etc.
- Monitor spending of Petty Cash and other agency money to ensure accountability and appropriate use
- Meet identified key performance indicators and metrics for the position as identified for the program, division, and agency
- Work with department Director to monitor and align financials with expected spending and changes to income or trends
- Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure complete personnel files are maintained per agency, Washington Administrative Code (WAC), and contract requirements
- Formalize and maintain training materials for specific program and requirements
- Maintain productive working relationships with internal department leads to always ensure efficient and seamless coordination of client care and business needs
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and resolution as needed
- Always maintain client and staff confidentiality
The Supportive Housing Supervisor works with assigned staff to ensure high standards of care are provided within the program, including but not limited to:
- Providing wraparound support services to enrolled clients
- Working in homes to assist with skills development for independent living
- Coordinating with Facility and Housing staff to address client needs and work towards maintaining housing
- Providing appropriate levels of skills training and assistance to clients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) per their service plan, such as assistance in personal hygiene (prompting for showers, laundry, washing hands, etc.), cleaning, finances, transportation, etc.
- Partnering as a team to deliver current programming and fill vacant position duties
- Working collaboratively with larger outpatient team of providers to support client in actively working towards treatment goals
- Coordinating care, such as scheduling, attending, and/or arranging transportation for appointments and other case management needs
- Maintaining and documenting in client charts and program trackers following agency, county, state, and federal guidelines.
- Providing and receiving input as part of client’s care team on service plan and progress, and collaborating with other providers such as primary care provider, housing staff for entering/maintaining/exiting housing, etc.
- Facilitating regular group and individual activities, encounters, and specialized client events, such as outings and holiday gatherings
- Assisting in admission and discharge planning
- Ensuring medications are supplied, administered, monitored, and documented appropriately for all clients through trained staff ensuring the seven rights of medication use are followed: right person, right medication, right time, right dose, right route, right reason (including refusal), and right documentation according to agency provided medication training
- Working within the Day Treatment milieu to provide support for clients, coverage for staff, and attend to general team-based care needs
- Supporting After Hours Clinician as After Hours Supervisor when assigned by receiving calls from After Hours Clinician for consultation and providing back-up when After Hours Clinician is not reachable, which may include additional duties:
- Answering all incoming calls and making contact within 2 hours of first call
- Providing crisis response for clients referred by Crisis Connections
- Completing assessments, such as mental status, safety, danger to self and others, etc, as appropriate for the situation
- Coordinating with other professionals, including care team, emergency room, social workers, police, family, etc. to determine least restrictive resolution
- Providing all clinical information regarding the crisis to treatment team by 9am on the next working day and complete documentation per required timelines
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or other related field, may consider candidates who have 2 years of relevant experience serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness or diversion services in lieu of degree
- Experience serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness
- Apply for Agency Affiliated Counselor credential with Washington Department of Health within 30 days of hire, if not otherwise licensed, and obtain and maintain registration and/or licensure
- Successfully pass criminal background check before hire date
- Obtain and maintain current Food Workers Card within 14 days of hire
- Obtain and maintain valid First Aid/CPR card or certificate within 30 days of hire
- Hold a valid license for 1 year with clean driving record to use agency vehicles
- Have legible handwriting and ability to do simple mathematics
- Able to navigate and comprehend charts in electronic medical record
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social sciences or related field and ability to qualify as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) with Washington Department of Health preferred, or ability to obtain MHP within 6 months of hire
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience providing services in a club house, day treatment, or integrated services setting, including housing
