As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee the AP/AR functions, ensure the accuracy and efficiency of CHN's financial operations, support the annual budget process, maintain the general ledger, and manage financial functions related to grant funding while ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and accounting principles.
Responsibilities include:
- Financial Administration- Prepare month-end and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations, ensure adherence to accounting practices, provide backup support for other roles, and prepare and analyze ad hoc reports as needed.
- Grants Management- Serve as the main point of contact for internal staff and Grants Management, handle invoicing to grant agencies, review and approve service partner invoices, prepare external reports for grant agencies, track grant expenditures for affiliates, and analyze ad hoc grant reporting as needed.
- Reporting- Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly actual-to-budget performance reports, support the annual budget preparation for CHN and affiliates, provide account information to external auditors, and prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business; MBA preferred
- 3-5years experience
- CPA Preferred
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong knowledge of computer systems and applications, including spreadsheets, databases, and property management accounting software programs
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology utilized in role
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, tenants and CHN employees
