Inspection Specialist 

Department: Programs

Reports to: Navigation Supports Manager

Employment Status Classification: Full Time Salary; Exempt
 Salary Range: $44,720.00 per year

Job Description Summary: 

The Inspection Specialist will be responsible for scheduling and conducting Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and NSPIRE inspections. Property inspections are completed in single family and multi-family homes.

Essential Functions: 

• Receive requests from internal team members to conduct initial, annual and interim inspections.
• Perform inspections timely and efficiently.
• Complete all required inspection documentation such as reports, Deficiency Notices and HMIS Case Notes within 24 hours.
• Coordinate with landlords, maintenance personnel and program participants to schedule, complete and follow-up on inspections.
• Track repair deadlines and inform leadership when landlords are not making sufficient progress to resolve deficiencies.

Qualifications and Skills: 

• Experienced and trained in HQS/NSPIRE Inspections or ability to be trained on the job.
• Valid driver’s license and personal automobile coverage limits minimum: Bodily Injury $100,000 each person, $300,000 each occurrence Property Damage $100,000 each occurrence
• Licensed and experienced with HMIS or ability to be trained on the job.
• Proficient computer skills using MS Office.
• Highly motivated and efficient with strong initiative to work both independently and with team interactions.
• Highly attentive to details.
• Adaptable to multi-task in a fast-paced evolving environment.

Travel: 

Travel required within the communities served. This is a driving position, driving required daily and mileage is reimbursed per company policy.

CHN reserves the right to require a motor vehicle record check with respect to any employee where driving is an essential function of the position.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: 

This position includes fieldwork, in-office work and remote work. Occasional work outside normal office hours is required.

While performing the functions of this job, the position is both sedentary and at times requires the ability to be active including traveling in your vehicle and dealing with the outside elements.
