Full-Time Counselor – Genesis House
Provides drug treatment services to clients and their families, including treatment planning, individual and group counseling, education and case management. Oversees the general safety and well-being of clients through appropriate counseling relationships. Performs a variety of administrative duties as assigned by the Program Officer. Administer assessment via the ASI (Addiction Severity Index) of new clients which provides valuable information regarding the nature of the client’s problem. Develops treatment plan and upon completion of treatment develops a discharge plan and an aftercare plan. Updates client files weekly with Progress Notes, Case Review, and Individual sessions. Makes and coordinates referrals to social service agencies for ancillary support services. Supervises clients during recovery events and other outings in the community. Makes monthly reports, written and oral, to referral sources such as Probation, State Parole, Court Drug Programs, Department of Social and Employment Services, etc. Meets with social service providers to coordinate service plans. Must be a certified addictions counselor or intern (acceptable to State requirements). Knowledge of individual and group behavior and counseling techniques. Demonstrated problem solving skills, clinical skills and ability to work effectively in varied situations. Basic computer skills, Valid California driver’s license and auto insurance required, CPR/First Aid certificate required.
Salary if Registered $56,791 - $69,031/year if Certified $59,631 - $72,483/year. Additional 5% if bilingual (E/S). Generous benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage. AA/EOE.
