Essential Functions and Position Responsibilities:

• Customer Service Excellence: Show respect for residents and community staff at all times, providing outstanding customer service and fostering a positive community atmosphere.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform routine interior and exterior community maintenance tasks as scheduled or requested. Duties may include painting, snow/ice removal, replacing filters, and working with the trash compactor.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and repair on community equipment, including plumbing, light bulb replacement, A/C maintenance, electrical work, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Repair Requests: Respond promptly to all repair requests and maintenance concerns from residents and staff, ensuring timely resolution.
• Safety and Reporting: Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns, as well as any hazardous conditions, to the Maintenance Manager or Community Manager immediately. Maintain resident privacy and secure proper authorization before entering resident apartments.
• Safety Practices: Ensure that all maintenance items are stored in a safe manner to prevent injuries to residents, associates, and visitors. Adhere to all safety and OSHA requirements.
• Training and Development: Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned to stay current with best practices and improve your skills.
• Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors, such as those for landscaping, painting, and asphalt work, as instructed to ensure quality and timely completion of projects.
• Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall maintenance and operations of the community.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• On call
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

• Norfolk, VA 23518: Relocate before starting work (Required)
