GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will also run accounting software programs (e.g. QuickBooks) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting assistant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers.

SERVICE FUNCTIONS:
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements
Reconcile bank accounts in a timely manner for residents.
Enter key data of financial transactions in Quickbooks
Complete all A/R, A/P functions as it relates to t residents
Audit all resident books to insure all documentation is in order for licensing/MORC/Social Security audits as it relates to Resident Fund Books
Train home managers on financial procedures regarding recording resident fund books
Train new managers in resident and petty cash requests
Liaison between managers/parents/guardians as it relates to resident funds
Track and maintain all outstanding resident receipts for any requests
Maintain resident and group home directories
Reconcile Monthly Benefit Invoices
Responsible for accurately submitting monthly invoices to DHHS and the responsible CMH entity for the University program.
Maintain updated and accurate authorizations on the students from the various funding sources, maintain open communication with staff from funding sources, coordinate and comply all required billing documentations for monthly submission.
Maintain updated and accurate tracking system for individual students and their monthly invoices
Reconcile, audit, and maintain group home tracking documentation for each home and resident supported by CLC for billing purposes for transportation costs and reimbursement.
Maintain database on CLC supporters, families, friends, donors, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS:
Maintain current knowledge of Employee Handbook.
Perform all assignments in accordance with established policies and procedures and as instructed by supervisor.
Provide open communication with immediate supervisor concerning assignments.
Assist in meeting all established quality assurance standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High school graduate required, Associate Degree or equivalent education preferred. Two years experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerkor Accounts Payable Clerk
Familiarity with bookkeepingand Generally Accepted Accounting procedures
Above standard competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software, specifically Excel
Above standard competency in Quickbooks
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers
Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
Data entry and word processing skills
Well organized
