CMA is about transforming lives and empowering individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Community Habilitation Specialist, your contributions will make a real difference every day.
What Your Role Will Be:
- Provide meaningful instruction to individuals to enhance community living skills.
- Assist with activities of daily living, personal care, health care, and promote community inclusion.
- Support the development of relationships, social skills, and leisure activities.
- Help individuals access community services and resources.
- Facilitate the development of independent community travel skills.
- Meet with individuals to discuss behavioral concerns and sensitive topics.
- Encourage individuals to identify potential outcomes and engage in problem-solving training.
- Assist individuals in effectively communicating with external entities such as Care Coordinators, vendors, healthcare providers, and landlords.
- Coordinate and support a variety of leisure and community activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Driver’s License: A valid and clean New York State driver’s license is required.
- Experience as a Caregiver, Direct Care Worker
- Experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Own transportation with proof of insurance and registration
- Computer Proficient
- Smartphone required
Work Hours/Schedule: Flexible – evenings, weekends, holidays
Use of personal vehicle/ mileage reimbursement
Pay: $18.00/hr
