What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatrics - Health Unit Coordinator/Tele Tech position at Community Medical?
$5,000 Sign-on Bonus with one (1) year commitment to that role. Open to external applicates who have not been previously employed by CMC in the last rolling 9 months.
Status/FTE: FT / 0.8-1.0 FTE
Shift length: 12 hours
Start Time: 1900
Unit: Pediatrics
Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): Every 3rd weekend, rotating holidays.
The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) performs routine administrative and clerical duties at and around the nursing station, providing prompt and courteous service to patients, families, physicians, staff and public alike. Helps monitor and facilitate activities at nursing station and performs tasks necessary to maintain proper flow of patient care and related documentation. Acts as receptionist and must be able to remain professional with a positive attitude under stressful conditions with multiple demands. The HUC performs tele-monitoring including monitoring continuous vital signs of neonatal patients located in the NICU and communicates changes promptly and accurately to nursing staff to ensure patient safety.
Minimum Required:
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a stressful environment.
- Must have experience in administrative support and or receptionist duties.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must have basic computer proficiency, ability to use a multi-line phone system.
- Must be proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred/Desired:
- Preferred medical clerical experience and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, health care patient records/scheduling/billing/order systems, and/or an electronic health record system preferred.
